Established B2B furniture seller and long-term Razoyo client was facing Magento 1 End of Support and had to decide whether to migrate to Magento 2 or move to another platform. The cost of migration and ongoing costs over the next few years was a major consideration.
Razoyo’s project analysis team determined that a migration to BigCommerce would cost less than a migration to Magento 2 and that ongoing maintenance costs would be low. Hosting, security and upgrades are all included in the BigCommerce monthly fee.
At the end of the project, Razoyo’s analysis showed a 33% savings on the migration project versus migrating to Magento 2. The implementation time was at least 4 weeks faster than a comparable Magento 1 to Magento 2 move.
The BigCommerce cost is only a little more expensive than the cost of hosting Magento 2. Considering the cost and frequency of upgrades for Magento 2, the merchant is enjoying a substantial decrease in total cost of ownership.
Additionally, as part of the project, they were able to implement a significant upgrade in the look of the site within the original budget and no longer rely on developers for cosmetic changes.
